Taster Sessions
The Taster sessions are FREE and open to anyone interested in keeping bees. They are operated on a first come first served basis.
The dates of the our Taster Sessions for 2024 are:
Saturday 4th May
Saturday 1st June
Saturday 6th July and,
Saturday 3rd August.
To register your interest and to enable us to manage numbers, please complete and submit the form opposite.
We aim to respond within 5 working days.
Our Beekeeping Taster sessions are held at the Teaching Apiary, located near Aldringham. We offer one session per person; usually at the beginning of the month. The sessions are held on a Saturday and usually last between 1-2 hours.
We have protective beekeeping suits for you to wear and there is ample parking.
The taster sessions are led by experienced beekeepers and others, who will be available to answer any questions.
At the sessions you will see inside a hive, or two and, depending on the temperament of the colony, may be able to hold a frame or two. You will see worker bees, drone bees, play 'spot the Queen', eggs, larvae capped brood.
You may even see a bee emerging from its cell.
